'Portal' Original Painting

Rings of mushrooms - known as witch rings or faerie rings - are steeped in folklore. They are told to pop up in places where faeries (or witches) have danced, and if you step inside one you risk being taken by the faeries, who will keep you in their strange land for as long as they please. Time moves differently in Faerie, and as you return to the human world the years that seemed like mere days in Faerie might come back to you all at once, leaving you old and withered, with all your loved ones long dead.

This is the original painting used for the cover of Betwixt and Between: Forces of Nature.
